Enjoy Your Balloons - Balloon "CARE" and tips

Balloons Can Pop:

Change of temperature, movement, air conditioning, lights, paint textures, irregular surfaces, trees and plants, even static can pop balloons. If you are planning on placing your balloons on a ceiling, ensure that you test it first. We use the highest quality balloons and take every precaution necessary with your balloons to ensure they last through your event, once the balloons leave our door or we have left your event venue, they are out of our control

TRANSPORTING BALLOONS:

When we deliver your balloons they will be "bagged". This protects the balloons during transportation, helps to slow down the oxidisation process and prevent tangles. Helium balloons can be kept in transportation bags for a few hours but let them float freely as soon as possible, air balloons can be stored for long periods of time without problem

BALLOONS AND TEMPERATURE:

DO NOT LEAVE BALLOONS IN A HOT CAR !

Helium expands in the heat and this could cause your balloons to pop. It is recommended to use air conditioning in your vehicle when transporting balloons on a hot day. Clear balloons become cloudy quickly when exposed to heat and sunshine. Coloured balloons will take on a velvety, matte appearance. If you are planning to use your balloons outside the best colour choice is light pastels and opaque colours. Strong colours such as blacks will not last well in the heat and chrome and metallic balloons will oxidise and become dull very quickly. If your balloons get rained on and start to droop, don't worry they will float again when dry. When helium-filled balloons especially foils are taken into the cold, they will temporarily deflate slightly and will re-inflate again when warm

Balloons and the Environment:

Latex balloons are a plant-based product made from natural rubber which does breakdown. However, when balloons become litter they don't degrade sufficiently or quickly enough to prevent possible risk or harm to wildlife

Eliminating the deliberate release of balloons and promoting the responsible use and disposal is vital for effective environmentally responsible change

Leading manufacturers source their latex from sustainable Rainforest Alliance Certified and Forest Stewardship Council Plantations. This contributes to building healthy forests, thriving communities and fights climate change

At the end of a balloon's life, cut the end of the balloon with scissors to remove any air or balloon gas, then dispose of it in the bin

OR

Contact us to pick up your used/unwanted latex or foil balloons and balloon weights and delivery bags to recycle using TerraCycle Australia services

NEVER release balloons into the environment. ALL released balloons become litter. They can get caught up in trees or power lines.
Remember PIN - IT - AND - BIN - IT

Balloon Gas / Helium:

MEDICAL HELIUM IS NOT USED TO INFLATE BALLOONS Supagas, a leading supplier of helium explains that the helium used to inflate balloons is not pure enough for medical or scientific use. It is a by-product gathered during the production of medical grade helium. The majority of liquid helium boils off in the transfer process.

Instead of wasting this resource, it is collected and recycled. The sale of balloon gas offsets the cost of medical helium.

Inhaling helium can be dangerous and it is not recommended. It can deprive your body of oxygen and can result in a fatality

Balloons and Allergies:

Most balloons are made of natural rubber latex and may cause allergies. Please look out for symptoms in case of allergies and seek immediate help.

Pets and Children:

Balloons are not a toy. Uninflated or burst balloons can present a choking hazard and should never be left with children under the age of eight without supervision. Store balloons away from pets to ensure that they cannot get themselves tangled with balloon ribbons or accidentally ingest popped balloons or their decorative contents such as confetti, feathers, or other materials. If a balloon pops, clear away any broken balloons and it's decorative contents (if applicable) immediately
